but I wanna plaaaay
Blogshares is down. Just after I make my first cool mil, I can't do anything with it. I'm not in any real position to complain, as I am not paying for this, but still I'm not happy.
And since I can't entertain myself, I'll make a pointless political stand. As for America, I don't see why same-sex marriages shouldn't be legal. After all, we're not supposed to have one conglomerate morality running everything; it is morality that shouldn't be legislated after all. And the objections leveled at such ceremonies generally come from the religion camps and other traditionalists. The same ones who objected to interracial marriages. And also, may it be said, influenced Prohibition quite a bit. Which we all know turned out swimmingly.
So keep the pols out of family life. Let them promote a more generic set of family values, and let the churches decide if they want to officiate gay marriages. If we can get the government out of this issue, maybe there's hope for us as a country after all, not just another dinosaur.
Wow, what a scattershot, lukewarm stance. If anybody ever left comments, I'm sure we'd have to duke it out over this one.

I feel the whole problem is that Joe Sixpack and Sally BoxMonkey do not want their marriage to resemble a crazy samesex union.
So I would let gay couples get a "Narriage Certificate" and get "Narried".
They can get their partners insurance benefits, visit them in the hospital, claim their partner's body at the morgue, and be subject to horrible divorces. As in the hetro world, the dominant "butch" would give the submissive "fem" half his income.
Imitation is the sincerest form of television.
