typos on a diploma?

This is an email that was sent to all the seniors. I didn't read the subject line and thought that the school was trying to graduate me (with my Computer Engineering) degree earlier than I'd expected. I was worried for most of that day, in fact, until I realized my mistake (and theirs). The idea of them screwing up both the diplomas and the emails is just too juicy not to pass along.

Subject: December Journalism Diploma

Dear Graduate,

It has been discovered that the diploma issued to you for your December
graduation was printed with an incorrect graduation date. The correct
graduation date is December 28, 2002, rather than December 31, 2002. Your
degree has been awarded correctly on your academic transcript and must be
corrected on the diploma. Diplomas have been ordered with the correct
date and are expected to arrive the week of January 21, 2002. It is our
intent to mail those corrected diplomas to each of you as soon as
possible. To insure the smoothest possible process, please confirm your
permanent address on CAESAR.

You will be receiving, in the mail, a letter regarding this diploma
replacement and an envelope to return the incorrect diploma. Upon receipt
of the incorrect diploma, we will mail the correct diploma to your
permanent address. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to
rectify this as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,

Suzanne M. W. Anderson
University Registrar
